How thyroid disease will control without medication - Research gate of thyroid disease . Who are at risk for thyroid disease?

WHAT IS THYROID DISEASE?

Thyroid disease is medical condition that required medical attention. Thyroid hormones released by thyroid ( which is present within the trachea). When there is alteration in the thyroid hormone it will lead to thyroid disease. More briefly when lower amount of thyroid hormone is releases it is known as hypothyroidism moreover greater amount of thyroid hormone released from thyroid gland is termed as hyperthyroidism. Some other medical conditions which are linked with thyroid are called as thyroiditis and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.

Role of thyroid :

Thyroid have major role in metabolism via metabolism it provide energy that will use by your body. There are two type of thyroid hormone which is used by body i.e T3 and T4 contain three and four iodide molecule named as triiodothyronine and thyroxine respectively.

Release of these hormones also control by pituitary gland in the brain , it have ability to sense the high and low level of thyroid hormone within the body and released thyroid stimulating hormone that further send signals to thyroid that ultimately level the amount of thyroid hormone in the body.

Who are at risk for thyroid disease?

Estimated 20 million people are diagnosed in the united state with this diseases. From survey it is also summarized that women are five to eight time more prone to thyroid diseases as compare to men.

People who are at risk of thyroid disease are as follows :

1. Person who have genetically inherited for thyroid disease.
2. Previously or currently taken medicines containing iodine for example amidarone ( an antiarrhthymic drug).
3. Have had treatement for thyroid disease or cancer thyroidectomy or radiation).

Also have one of the following medical condition

Pernicious anemia, diabetes type 1 , primary stage of adrenal insuffiency, lupus , Sjögren’s syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis, and Turner syndrome
New researches about thyroid disease management

Selenium and thyroid disease:

Selenium was discovered by as antioxidant for selenoenzymes, and it work as part of enzyme that activate the enzyme. Epidomigical status from different countries have evaluated that low intake of selenium will lead to autoimmune disease thyroiditis, grave’s disease and goiter.

Clinicaians use selenium for these conditions. In autoimmune disease lesser thyroid autoantibody are formed while in the case of grave disease , faster recovery of hyperthyroidism is seen which ultimately increase the quality of life.

Many researches are also in investigation for its clinical benefits , variation in outcomes depend upon genetic profile and individual selenium status.
Source of selenium :

Selenium can be avail from seafood, organ meat ,brazil nut food.

Selenium amount in foods may be variate because it depend upon the soil, environment in which it cultivate, climatic and geographical factors.

Lemon balm and thyroid disease:

According to the recent study lemon balm have suppressive efft on thyroid gland.. it decrease the release of T3 and T4 while on another side it potentiate the release of TSH so it is use inhyperthyroidism. It produce response t hrough receptor via igG but unfortunately Igg doesnot have any direct effect on thyroid g land . So it is use to manage the symotoms of hyperthyroidism i.e. insomnia, tachycardia and hyperactivity.

Turmeric and thyroid disease:

Turmeric from recent study shows beneficial effects in thyroid disease by decreasing the level of TSH and increment in the T3 and T4 levels. It positive effect is locked in special part called rhizomes. Only rhizomes of turmeric contain the curcumin that gives its antioxidant effect and prevent oxidative tissue damage.

It also have role In papillary thyroid cancer in a dose dependent manner by facilitating the apoptosis.

Final Thoughts

Selenium , lemon balm and turmeric have excellent effects in thyroid diseases but due to insufficient clinical trials and experiments these are still under investigation. it will evaluated more on the basis of genetic and other factors.
